18-22 November 2019 is World Antibiotic Awareness Week
World Antibiotic Awareness Week aims to increase awareness of global antibiotic resistance and to encourage best practices among the general public, health workers and policy makers to avoid the further emergence and spread of antibiotic resistance.
All health professionals have a key role to play in the drive to prevent serious infections and reduce inappropriate antibiotic use.
A free e-learning session, ‘Reducing Antimicrobial Resistance: An Introduction’, supports health and social care staff to understand the threats posed by antimicrobial resistance and the ways they can help to tackle it. It is available here.
Antibiotic awareness resources (including resources for patients) can be found here.
If you require any further information on antibiotic prescribing please contact your ward pharmacist or Medicines Information on 0843 506 5554
