Patient Group Directions (PGDs) are written protocols that enable qualified healthcare professionals to administer or supply prescription-only medicines against strict criteria, to individuals, without the direct involvement of a prescriber.
They are constructed to meet the demand of a particular scenario, where a prescriber may not be available but a medicine would need to be administered quickly for convenience. They often cover certain indications and direct strict inclusion and exclusion criteria against which the medicine can be supplied or administered by a qualified healthcare professional.
Speeds Healthcare can consult on your requirements and prepare the PGD documentation for discussion and agreement by the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
