CQC report champions the positive impact of pharmacy professionals in health and social care settings

The independent regulator for health and social care in England has praised the positive impact of pharmacy professionals health and social care settings in a new report published on 6th June 2019. 

It details how we can deliver better improvements in overall care, reducing wastage and improving ownership for patients. With over 237 million medication errors reported in England each year, the report strives to support access to high-quality, safe care that every patient deserves. It widely accepts that pharmacy professionals play a vital role in achieving this goal.

Medicines in health and adult social care: Learning from risks and sharing good practice for better outcomes‘ is based on qualitative and quantitative analysis of over 200 inspection reports of NHS and independent providers where we knew there were medicines-related issues, 100 enforcement notices (such as Warning Notices) and 1,500 National Reporting and Learning System (NRLS) and statutory notifications from providers between 2015 and 2018.
